Hey Everyone, My names Nic and ive been keeping fish for close to 20 years now. I have previously owned an online aquarium store, managed a retail aquarium store and managed corporate chain pet stores. Over the years I have built a wealth of knowledge and with the rise of social media we don’t have a strong archive for information left.
I would love to help others with fish knowledge in a forum such as this where anyone can easily access the information.
Look forward to kicking this forum off!

Hello fellow fish lovers 🥰🐠⚓️💦
My name is Lyndsie... intermediate fish keeper, planted tank enthusiast and self proclaimed mermaid!! 🐡🧜♀️🐚
I love learning everything about setting up various types of tanks and general fish keeping knowledge to help me in my career in pet retail. The more I learn, the more helpful education I can give my everyday fish customers.
Not only do I keep a range of tropical and marine fish, I also have an aquaponics system with over 40 Koi to help me with my vegetables and herbs all year long!! 🐟💧🥦🌶🥬💦
Will be posting many photos and videos of my aquatic babies, and can’t wait to see yours...
LyndsieDee 🐬✌🏻🌊

Hey Everyone Tyler here I’ve been keeping fish for around 10 years now Residing on the North side of Brisbane Currently running 3 tanks 160L, 400L and a 700L
The 400L is basically done and just time to enjoy and watch everyone grow including a Senegal Birchir, rotkiel Sevs, a firemouth, spotted Raphael catfish among others
The other two are a work in progress

Hi all. I'm Jerry Smith and live in Bloomingdale, NJ, USA. I have been keeping fish and plants off and on since 6th or 8th grade or so back in 1964-66. So you don't have to think too hard, I'm 66. Most of my tanks are at work. Retirement is in a few years. I have an empty 150 gallon tank at home, brand new, never been wet. Have to get moving on it.
Right now I just finished burying my carnivorous plants in a huge leaf pile to protect them over winter. We are expecting a cold snap tomorrow, might get down to 20 F or so. I took a series of photo's so I'll post up a journal if anyone is interested. Have to see if there is a general subforum for non fish/aquatic plant stuff.
Going camping this coming weekend to prepare wood for our year end campout. Coldest so far has been 8F in unheated tents. The best!!!!
I need to get up a photo, also, I think I still have that banjo player in a rocking chair gif saved somewhere. Have to see if I can get that in my signature.
I'm getting excited already. Where's Spud?

Great to see you on board Jerry! Funny you should say Carnivours Plants, I’m studying for my Diploma in Horticulture hopefully onto Tissue Culture. I will add a non aquatic plants section right now as Lyndsie and myself are plant/garden addicts. We just added a Nepthenes to our greenhouse near the Venus fly trap a week ago and I’m in Awe! Not sure of the species yet (possibly a hybrid) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey Jerry!!
👋😄Wonderful to meet you and hear that you also have a passion for plants, both Nic and I are avid collectors of Tillandsia, Bromeliads, Hoyas, Suculents and Carnivorous plants. 🌱🌿 Our garden is full of fruit trees, vegetables, herbs and a wide variety of annual bulbs!! 🍑🥒🍊🍓💐
Will be sure to watch out for your future posts in the forums 👀😂

Three CP nuts. Nicc and Lyndsiedee. Good to know. Any more? I have various Sarracenia species and hybrids, VFT, Sundews, and other bog plants. I"ve killed two Cephalotus so far and think I"ll stop at that. Too expensive at $40.00 each or so. No Nepenthes or Darlingtonia. How do you guys get by with your VFT and dormancy? Do you refrigerate them for a few months?
Two years ago I went into a bog in south Jersey to weed out some non native Sarracenia that were introduced intentionally over 40 years ago. The person I went with knew the original owner of the bog before he sold it to a conservation group. They have been weeding it out for over 5 years now. We were wading in sphagnum moss up to our hips as we walked around to get to the plants. I kept a bunch for myself, but I had another friend keep them in his unheated greenhouse last winter and they all got thrown out accidentally. Long story and not my friends fault. He was in transition in the purchase of his greenhouses. The previous owner had permission to go through one more spring season. My plants got cleaned out as the previous owner was preparing to sow in January.
Here's my dilemma, do I sleep or do I keep writing? That is the problem I have with Forums.
How do I post photo's? I guess I should not reply in the quick reply box.
Edit: So I went to the edit post section and came up with the place to add Attachments. My photo of NJ Dwarf Sphagnum Moss I collected in the Pine Barrens is 1.28 MB. Do you have anyway to allow larger photo files? Or a way that the Forum automatically makes the files smaller? I can't make it smaller now. My pillow calls.

Welcome back Jerry. Spuds around here somewhere, im sure he will stick his head up eventually haha.
Definitely keen to see your journals. They were always a good read with plenty of useful information.
Im actually on a fair few carnivorous plant pages on fb. But yet to get any. Just playing with a bonsai at the moment. But want to get into the carnivorous plants. Love all the different pitcher plants.
Well look forward to seeing you around the forum jerry.

I think you’re just as addicted 😂 We haven’t had issues where we live, we don’t get anything bellow 0 degrees Celcius. The VFT just seemed to regress, leaves stayed small then in spring it starts growing. I would love to see the native growing Carnivours! I’m fascinated by natural growing conditions of plants, even made a geographical map of all the Tillandsia/Bromeliads. The easiest and quickest way to upload photos is using imgbb.com if you’re on computer or mobile. auscichlids.boards.net/thread/8/uploading-photos-forum-attachment-bigHoped this helps, if you’re on an iPhone then I recommend downloading the Tapatalk App. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
