FLAME BACK CICHLID (PUNDAMILIA NYEREREI) The Nyererei inhabits rocky areas of Lake Victoria and has a number of geographic variations. It is a hardy undemanding fish but can be territorial, so provide some hiding places. Males are easily noticed by their brighter colours, these can vary depending on the fish's mood. Maximum size is about 10-11cm. Many Lake Victorian species are considered threatened in the wild, after Nile Perch were introduced to the lake with devasting effects on its indigenous Cichlids. Ive kept and bred these and other victorians. They are highly aggressive but colourful. Unfortunately not many species of victorians out there these days. Attachments:

I really like flame backs, does anyone breed them currently?
Awhile ago I ordered from bay over east and got the most horrible fins and colour.

I dont any more. But i had sp.35's which are super rare as they usually get crossed out with unsuspecting hobbiests not knowing the difference between the two. Or sold under the wrong fish. Ill do a description of sp.35 tomatos soon.
