With saltwater fish its always very wise to setup a small quarantine tank. So as not to add disease to your tank. Especially important with tangs that are so susceptible to ich (white spot) I generally throw a small sponge filter in my sump running so its got plenty of good bacteria on it. Then when buying a new fish you can add your mixed salt to a 2 or 3 foot tank and its ready to go. Make sure there are plenty of hiding spots. Pvc drainage tubes work well and plastic plants. Lighting isnt so important. And quarantine can last as much as 60 days. Its important the fish is healthy and no signs of disease. You can also dose copper like Seachem Cupramine. Do not use this in a tank with inverts and corals. You will kill them. Attachments:
