At the Public Sunshine Aquarium, in the Ikebukuro neighborhood of Japan staff are investigating a massive loss of fish.
The aquarium staff were undertaking a medication to treat a disease their largest aquarium, over 240,000 liters big. The oxygenators were switched off to increase the medicines efficiency which resulted in 90% off the tanks inhabitants dying.
Only 73 fish survived in the 12x10m Lagoon exhibit, which is usually home to 50 species of fish. The aquarium has already cleared and cleaned the exhibit and are slowly restocking.
Hot Australian summers can be a nightmare for fish and oxygen! Has anyone else had an oxygen disaster?
