Hey everyone, This was my first attempt at planting Riccia fluitans. My inspiration came from reading Takashi Amano books and wanting that “carpet” look. It’s not easy to find in the aquarium trade so I used a tissue culture from Aquarium Gallery Perth. Highly recommend them for ADA/Planted gear and great for rare species! I used the ADA moss stones although any flat rock/slate can be used. The Riccia is laid over each stone and cotton thread is wound tightly around. Remember it wants to float/grow up so make it tight. The stones were buried up to the riccia and positioned a few cms apart to allow for growth. A couple of weeks later (I added HC at the front Riccia in the middle). A few notes they love very bright lights, moderate fertilizer and I wouldn’t attempt to make it grow like a carpet (horizontal) without CO2. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I took these photos awhile ago and didn’t have anywhere to post them. It’s fun to grow and you get to practice your “zen” with constant pruning haha

Riccia is so pretty when it grows seamlessly and pearls after a co2 dose 😍 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
