I have always liked cyprichromis leptosoma mpulungu. Just fascinating to watch the male do his shimmer/dance to attract the females. The colours are so striking they are like a freshwater anthia or flasher wrasse. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m very jealous! When I have had the tank space I couldn’t find any. I found a store over east with a few over a hundred dollars each (before shipping) and only 4cm.

I have sooo many i love. But here is one ive had the pleasure of owning. Would love to have them again. But super rare, they may have been completely lost in the hobby in Australia now. I havent heard of any in over 10years. Ophthalmotilapia nasuta tiger "Chimba" Attachments:

Another of mine would be the Gnathochromis permaxillaris. Not because of them being colourful. More so because they are rare. And the way their jaw has adapted to eating of the sustrate. Such an unusual fish. Ive never kept them myself. Attachments:

Does Synodontis lucipinnis count? I have a 65 gallon tank in my office at work that has contained various cichlids over the years: Neolamprologus leleupi, Julidochromis marksmithi, Tanganicodus irsacae Moba, Paracyprichromis.... I've had my current Synodontis in this tank for almost 10 years now. I started with 8 juvies and maybe 6 or 7 made it to adulthood. They do spawn, but I don't do anything to raise them. BUT, I have had some juveniles appear three times over the years. I know of four of my cats that were spawned in my tank. I have one that made its appearance about 2 months ago. I suppose the eggs scattered by the adult find lodging places in the many rocks in this tank. I need to transfer over the journal on this tank covering its history. Video of the Synodontis and cichlids from April 2019. This was taken before the air conditioner failed at work and killed all the cichlids. youtu.be/GnzY_x8YvwM

Wow! That’s a stunning cichlid. It’s like a marine anthia or flasher wrasse.
