Beautiful fish, very rarely heard of or kept in the aquarium trade. Saffron Shiner (Notropis rubricroceus), a stunningly beautiful minnow, native to the upper Tennessee River drainage in the southern Appalachian Mountains. Attachments:

Wow that’s a stunner! Never seen them in the trade. What would water conditions be like to keep them?

Cold water swiftly moving. Rounded rocks, pebbles, sand substrate. No sharp edges on the rocks. They get tumbled during spring floods. Most likely very soft water. Very little limestone in the Appalachian Mountains. Mostly Gneiss, Granite. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saffron_shiner

Sounds like they would benefit from a high lph flow to replica that environment. Cold water would definitely require a chiller here in summertime.
